Sonoma County’s animal sheltering community has some new folks at the top. In fact, of the half-dozen shelters and humane organizations operating in the county, most have new directors and managers.
Sonoma County Animal Care and Control brought on Amy Cooper from Idaho last summer. Just before that, Jeff Charter joined Petaluma Animal Services. Kiska Icard was named executive director at Sonoma Humane in April. These new directors and a seasoned veteran of animal sheltering joined “Sonoma Pets” for a wide-ranging discussion of animal sheltering challenges and triumphs.
See their comments, hopes and frustrations and deep commitment to what they do in a multi-part series at “Sonoma Pets.”
